Meet Our Agents
Mark McMillan, President and CEO of Advance Land and Timber, LLC, has experience in the timberland industry since 1987. Mark was born and raised on a family farm in Bamberg, South Carolina. Upon graduating from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Finance, he went to work in the insurance industry. His work with forest product insurance programs throughout the southeast included hunting club liability and vacant land liability. His hobbies include hunting and fishing. He is an avid duck hunter.
Mark Kiser is licensed in South Carolina. Mark has 34 years of experience in the timberland and real estate business. He has been a registered forester and member of the South Carolina Forestry Association for 34 years. He is also a member of the Society of American Foresters, First Baptist Church of Newberry, and is a practicing consulting forester. He has extensive knowledge of timberland investments, forestry retirement programs, and wildlife management. His hobbies are hunting and fishing with his family and friends, and coaching sports. He has been married 33 years to Paula and has two sons, Sam and Jeff.
Carwin Owens is licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. He graduated from Liberty University with a BS degree in Economics. Carwin began his career in the lumber industry working for saw mills, distribution plants, buying, selling lumber all over the east coast. In 1999 he started buying and selling timberland eventually getting experience and understanding of the different types of land and markets in Virginia and North Carolina.
Carwin lives in Lynchburg Virginia with his wife Mary and two daughters. He enjoys the outdoors especially fishing and duck hunting.
Melvin Ezzell has thirty years of experience, and has successfully managed over 300,000 acres of forestland in North Carolina, South Carolina, and the Caribbean.
Melvin has been responsible for full cycle land management and land development to include acquisition, sustainable silvicultural practices, conservation easements, preforming and coordinating comprehensive market analysis, planning, permitting, through disposition. He was the project manager for three marina projects in NC that generated in excess of 30 million in boat slip sales from 2007-2010. In 2016 he was an integral member of the management and marketing team that successfully relaunched a major Caribbean golf course community, to include the hosting of a major PGA event.
Melvin holds credentials as a NC Real Estate Broker, NC Registered Forester, Fire Wise Community Specialist and is a member of the Society of American Foresters.
Jamie is a wildlife enthusiast who loves the outdoors. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Turfgrass Management. He currently owns Pinestraw Headquarters, LLC, which specializes in managing long leaf pine plantations for the harvesting of pine needles. The pine needles are sold for decorative mulch for residential and commercial properties.
His hobbies include whitetail deer hunting, duck hunting, and tournament bass fishing. He also enjoys putting in food plots and managing the properties he hunts, which gives him great experience when helping a client buy or sell recreational property. He can easily look at a property to know how to make it a desirable hunting tract to sell or buy.
Jamie resides in Lake Waccamaw with his wife, Kristin, and two beautiful daughters, Kynleigh and Kamryn.
Skip Valentine brings a long list of experience to the team in NC. The primary focus of his real estate brokerage is farm and recreational land sales. Skip wears many hats in the land business, from being in the hunting operations, farming, wildife management and forestry. This affords the client a wealth of knowledge, when finding or selling that tract of land. Residing in Eastern NC, his hometown is Tarboro NC.
Zach Antill is licensed in North Carolina and Virginia. Zach has been in the outdoors from the minute he was born! With his father working as a Forester in the timber industry, Zach has been in and around the timber world his whole life!
Zach studied Forestry all throughout high school under his dad and worked as a Forester Technician in the summers throughout high school and college. Zach graduated from Montreat College with a Bachelors in Outdoor Ministry and has been a North Carolina Wildlife Enforcement Officer, in addition to being a hunting and fishing guide both professionally and privately.
Zach brings a lifetime of hunting and timberland experience and is a great choice to help you buy or sell hunting and investment properties throughout North Carolina and Virginia.
Ben Jauch is licensed in Virginia. He is a 2021 graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University with a degree in entrepreneurship. Born and raised in Forest Virginia, he is an avid sportsman who was taught a love for the outdoors by his grandfather, a lifelong Virginian. He enjoys hunting, bow-fishing, trapping, and chasing smallmouth bass in the James River.
Zach Ayotte is licensed in North Carolina.
Zach attended Hampden-Sydney College where he graduated with a degree in economics and business. He grew up in Morganton, North Carolina, and after living in Montana, he now resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. He enjoys everything the outdoors has to offer, especially fishing, turkey hunting, and duck hunting.
Keith Rogers is an experienced real estate broker, an avid outdoorsman and is retired with 30 years of service as a North Carolina Wildlife Enforcement Officer serving Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Granville, Hoke, Harnett, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland counties. He is a member of the Advance Land and Timber team in Lake Waccamaw, N.C.
As a wildlife officer patrolling southeastern North Carolina since 1988 and with six years of land management experience with Charles L. Tate & Associates in Lake Waccamaw, Keith has critical knowledge of the area necessary to put together profitable investments and one-of-a-kind recreational deals. He looks forward to creating successful and long-term relationships with his real estate clients built on respect, hard work, and communication.
Along with experience in timber management, Keith has a degree in Fish and Wildlife management and enjoys working with clients to create wildlife management plans. He is the father of three and his children have attended NC State University. He lives in Lake Waccamaw and is married to Carolyn Stuart High. He has served as East Columbus High School FFA alumni president, enjoys golf, and has a lifelong interest in hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventure.
Mike Keim is licensed in South Carolina, He joined Advance Land and Timber in May 2003. He is a Registered Forester in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina, and Consulting Forester and owner of Keim's Forestry Services, working primarily in the Piedmont Region of South Carolina. With 27+ years experience in forestry, he has a good understanding of timber, timberland, forest management, recreational and aesthetic values! Mike has a passion for the outdoors? He enjoys turkey, dove, duck and deer hunting as well as a good game of tennis. He takes pride in the fact that he is a timberland owner and a tree farmer and feels that this allows him to "practice what he preaches".
Mike and his wife, Kathy, have been married 28+ years. They have two daughters, Kristin and Candice.
Greg Fleming is licensed in Alabama, and has over 30 years of experience in working in agriculture, forestry and education. He was raised on a cattle/timber farm in the east central region of Mississippi, near Quitman. Upon graduating from Mississippi State University with a BS degree he worked in Stone County and Quitman school districts teaching agriculture and forestry and serving as a school and district level administrator. Many of these work years were spent as 16th Section Land Manager for Quitman School District. His responsibilities included the areas of easement acquisition, hunting leases, utllity leases, oil, gas and mineral leases, contracting road maintenance and construction and serving as the point of contact with the state forestry agency and Secretary of State's office. Greg and his wie Lisa live in the Corner/Bagley Community near Dora, Alabama and have one daughter, Isabella. He enjoys being outdoors, including hunting, fishing and traveling with his family.
Davy Hite is a professional bass angler with twenty years of experience as a touring pro. He has established himself as one of the most successful anglers of all times. Davy has four major titles to his credit. He is a two-time BASS Angler of the Year, a Bassmaster Classic Champion and an FLW Championship Winner. He has won nine national tournaments and qualified for the Bassmaster Classic in an impressive fourteen seasons. He has career winnings in excess of two million dollars. Davy is a fan favorit on ESPN's Bassmaster Elite Series Tournament Trail. He is also highly regarded as a seminar speaker and known for his informative, entertaining, and humorous style. Davy and his wife, Natalie, make their home in Ninety Six, SC on a small private lake Davy designed to be a bass haven so that his sons would never have to wait for Dad to take them fishing. Davy has been associated with Advance Land and Timber as an agent for five years. When he is not fishing, he enjoys helping people buy and sell great recreational and timberland investments. The Hites have two sons, Parker and Peyton. Parker is a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. Peyton is a junior at Ninety Six High School where he participates on the football and tract teams.
